The Lady Blue Bombers kept the momentum going after knocking off Crown Point by dropping Minerva/Newcomb 7-2 for the Section VII Class D softball crown.
The Lady Sentinels won their ninth-straight Section VII Class C title with a tight 3-1 win against the Lady Patriots.
Powered in large part by Kallie and Kirsten Villemaire, the Beekmantown girls’ track and field team edged second-place Saranac by 37.5 points, 169.5-132, for the Section VII crown.
The Blue Bombers won their third-straight Section VII Class D baseball championship, and for some players, their third sectional title of the school year.
Saranac 2, Plattsburgh 1
Four years, four Section VII Class B titles for the Saranac Chiefs. A go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth propelled them past the Plattsburgh Hornets 2-1.
Plattsburgh 10, Beekmantown 6
The Plattsburgh Hornets used an 8-0 run over two innings to erase a four-point deficit and seize the Section VII Class B baseball championship.
Lake Placid 11, Minerva/Newcomb/Long Lake 2
Lake Placid's pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts while the team belted double-digit hits, setting up a Class D championship appearance Friday.
